This part is generated from a hand-written, print-tested OpenSCAD module — the same numbers always produce the same geometry. It is not an AI guess, and it does not cost a credit. Before a load-bearing or fit-critical print, check it against our design guide for wall thickness, overhangs and orientation.

Print notes for this part

  • PLA and PETG have essentially no spring-back — this is fine as a prototype or a low-cycle mechanism, but for a spring that actually gets compressed repeatedly, print it in TPU or use a real steel spring.
  • Print with the coil axis vertical; laid on its side the coil needs support material threaded through its own centre, which is difficult to remove cleanly.
  • wire_d relative to coil_od sets how stiff it feels — thin wire on a wide coil compresses easily, thick wire on a narrow coil barely moves at all before it binds.
