Print notes for this part

  • A single helical gear pushes along its own axis under load (axial thrust) — plan a thrust bearing or a shoulder to react that force, or use the herringbone template instead if the mount can't take it.
  • Higher helix angle meshes more smoothly and quietly but adds overhang on the tooth flanks; past roughly 30° most slicers want to add support material there.
  • Meshing gears must share module and pressure angle, with opposite-hand helix — module alone does not guarantee a mesh the way it does for a plain spur gear.
